El-Con will be held at the Elgin Town hall in Elgin, Moray on Sunday June 24th 2018
I started cosplaying back in 2010 as a way of coping with some issues in my life. I found an escape in becoming the character of the Doctor (Matt Smith) and so my cosplay journey started. Over the years, I've put together many of the various Doctors and created my own version of the character. I also cosplay a variety of other characters outside of Doctor Who. Such as the Flash and Sherlock (BBC version). Other cosplays include a few of my own characters, such as my own superhero called Time Switch. I'm also a genderfluid cosplayer and my feminine side cosplays as Supergirl, Elsa and now the recent Doctor, Thirteen.
Why Do I Cosplay:
Originally it started as a way to cope with life and its difficulties but has now become so much more. It's now a way for me to go out and help others cope with their difficulties but just trying to inspire them, or make them smile. The little things. It's become a way of being my own hero.
It's hard to choose out of all them, but my personal favourite is currently my own version of the Doctor. Because it's the perfect mix of who I am and who I want to be.
I am currently working on a Cyberman build with one of my friends. Aiming to have it done by the end of June, August at absolute latest.
I'm a big fan of DC characters and many others. I like to add my own style to all my costumes and props always love being one of a kind and I always take the time to research every character I do and try to stay in character when at events.
Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Joker, Redhood, Deathstroke, Rambo
Hi! My name is Darren, I'm 35 years old and I am a very geeky person when it comes to films, comics and superhero stuff. I've been cosplaying for about 5 years now. It was the love and passion for Power Rangers that got me started in cosplay and it all went from there really. Cosplay is really fun and enjoyable and it's a great way to meet new people and make new friends.

Ive been cosplaying for two years mainly as batman or Agent Venom. I love the building process with my boys, making suits and props for the three of us and making people smile.
